If you have read any of my previous posts, you probably know by now how much I love flavors that take me back in time. This Torta de Cambures recipe is definitely one of them. I shared this recipe for the April 16th issue of The Capital City Hues.
This is a cake that I remember eating as an afternoon snack with coffee. It is such an easy recipe especially because the ingredients are very basic in any Latin kitchen. For my cake I used a day-old French loaf to make the bread crumbs. If you can’t find Cotija Cheese you could substitute with finely grated feta.
While writing this recipe I also reflected on the memories it brought and the memories we are creating for the future. Go ahead and hop over to Tortas de Cambures: A Childhood Memory on the Capital City Hues to read the complete story and find the recipe. Scroll down for pictures.
